My last website (freemanitoba.com) ran off and left me, so I thought I'd drop in and see how things are going here. It looks pretty good...It might even become a new platform for some of my raving rants.

I recommend daily backups burnt to cd, so if this ever happens again, we have an off-site datasource of the valuable information posted and uploaded.

I recommend that people don't rely on external agencies to maintain and grow their circle of friends and acquaintances. Once you have personal contact information, be that an email address, phone number or whatever, it doesn't matter what happens to some website and it's much easier to re-group and start participating at a new venue - like this one.

On that topic, Diaspora is an open source social networking tool that may be more robust than these forums that are hosted by and therefore under the control of others. http://diasporaproject.org/

Social networks can be good and bad. On one hand, they are great communication mechanisms. On the other hand, its a centralized database of everyone for all to see, even interlopers who would want to cause us harm.

freemanITOBA.CA was meant to be an anonymous 'video dump' initially, because videos were being rejected on freemanITOBA.COM

this site will be redefined and can become whatever the users desire
